DONOVAN-McLAUGHLIN, Helen (Callahan) Of Jamaica Plain at 102 passed away peacefully in her own home on June 27, 2014. She was born on November 15, 1911 in Malin Co. Donegal Ireland. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles Callahan and Mary Anne (Kane) Callahan, her husbands James Donovan and John McLauglin, her brother Edward Callahan and sisters Mary O?Malley, Catherine Finn and Rose Doherty and most recently by her son James C. Donovan of Marshfield. She is survived by her children Edward J. and his wife Pat Donovan of Marshfield, Mary Ann O’Connor of Westwood, and Helen and her husband Albert Lake of West Roxbury, her grandchildren Edward and his wife Christen Donovan of Reading, Carolyn Donovan of Randolph, Michael and his wife Jean Donovan of West Roxbury, Gregory and his wife Margaret Lake of West Roxbury, Kimberly and her husband Michael La Monticelli of Norwood. The late Paul D. O’Connor and Kathleen O’Connor and her husband Catello Eposito of Westwood. She leaves her nieces Ann Reid of Bridgewater, Helen Murdoch of Savannah, Georgia, Mary Anne Doherty of Jamaica Plain and Grace Kneier of Victoria B.C. She leaves 14 great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the West Roxbury Irish Social Club until recently. She was honored in her 99th year by the Irish Cultural Society with the program title To Love Two Countries at a State House reception. She was a quiet woman who showed amazing courage, love and great faith in her lifetime. Goodnight sweet lady and may flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. Funeral from the William J. Gormley Funeral Home 2055 Centre St. WEST ROXBURY, Monday, June 30th at 9 am, followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in Holy Name Church at 10 o’clock. Visiting hours Sunday 3-7 pm. Mary F. Canning, 80 Dateline: Norton, MA Mary F. (Conroy) Canning, age 80, of Norton passed surrounded by her loving family, in the comfort of her home, on Monday, November 17, 2014. She was the beloved wife of Ronald D. Canning, Sr. to whom she was wed on August 10, 1952. Born in Boston, MA on December 29, 1933, she was a loving daughter of the late James and Katherine (Donohue) Conroy. Mary grew up in the Jamaica Plain neighborhood of Boston, was educated at Our Lady of Lourdes School, and was a 1952 graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. A dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Canning was a resident of Norton for the past 25 years; previously residing in Roslindale and Jamaica Plain. Mary was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Norton and a former longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Roslindale. She was exceptionally proud of her close family ties and will always be remembered for her gracious mannerism and scrumptious cooking skills. In addition to her beloved husband of 62 years, she is survived by her devoted children; Ronald D. Canning, Jr. of Norton, Catherine Madani and her husband Hossein of Watertown, Paul Canning and his wife Christine of North Attleboro, Maribeth Moriarty and her husband Patrick of Norton, John Canning and his wife Tricia of Newton, and the late Patricia “Patty” Canning. She was the dear sister of James Conroy and his wife Elsie of Mashpee, and the late William Conroy and Paul Conroy. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; April and her husband Kyle Porter, Daniel Madani, Aidan Canning, Amanda and Meaghan Moriarty, and Emma and Sadie Canning, her great grandson Jackson Porter, and many nieces and nephews. Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday November 21st at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Roxbury. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, November 20th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Avenue) Norton. Charles P. Healy Jr. a lifelong resident of Jamaica Plain, passed away on January 24, 2015. He was 65 years old. Charles was born and raised in Boston. He had a love of plants, studying horticulture in college, and later working for over 30 years in greenhouse operations at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. Charles was the longtime dear and devoted companion of Janet Curry of Natick. Dear brother of Mark E. Healy and his wife Rita of TX, Christopher M. Healy and his wife Mara of NC, Edna Healy of CA and Francis X. Healy and his wife Marsha of Winthrop. He is also survived by 6 loving nephews and a loving niece. Charles’ Funeral will be from the Kfoury Keefe Funeral Home 8 Spring St. (at the corner of Centre St.) WEST ROXBURY Friday at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas in Jamaica Plain at 10 a.m. Visiting hours will be held Thursday 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Margaret M. “ Rita “ (Vandersnoek) Ladue a lifelong resident of Jamaica Plain passed away in Rockland on Tuesday February 3, 2015. She was 86 years old and the beloved wife of the late Herbert A. Ladue USN. She is survived by her 2 children, Janet Ladue and husband Robert Muise of Scottsdale,AZ, Steven Ladue and wife Sue of Jamaica Plain,MA , her 4 grandchildren, Nicole Gottwald, Kerri Gottwald, Lindsay Ladue, Stevie Ladue, her 2 great-grandchildren, 3 nieces and her wonderful friend for over 75 years Gloria Thompson of Holbrook. She will be missed by all had the pleasure of knowing her.

Born October 12, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, Rita was a daughter to the late Maurice and Margaret (Galvin) Vandersnoek. She attended Boston Public Schools and was a graduate of the former Mary E. Curley High School in Jamaica Plain. She was also a communicant and attended Our Lady Of Lourdes Church also in Jamaica Plain.

Her funeral mass will be held on Tuesday February 10, 2015 at 10:30 A.M. in the Immaculate Conception Church, 122 Canton Street, Stoughton. The Pastor Fr. Joseph Mazzone, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at 1:15 P.M. in the MA Veteran’s National Cemetery, Bourne,MA. Visitation with the family will be held prior to the mass from 9:30 A.M. – 10:00 A.M. in the Sheehan, Lowe & Powers Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Robert Becker, 71 Dateline: Mansfield, MA Robert Becker, age 71, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Norwood. Born in Boston, MA on January 16, 1944, he was a loving son of the late Frederick T. and Mary E. (Carrigg) Becker. Bobby grew up in the Jamaica Plain and West Roxbury neighborhoods of Boston. He was educated at St. Thomas Aquinas Schools and attended Suffolk University. He was also a former member of the United States Army Reserve. A resident of Mansfield for the past 39 years, Mr. Becker retired as a Supervisor from the Boston Gas Co. where he had worked for 43 years. Bobby, along with his family, attended St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. He was an avid New England sports fan and a passionate golfer. Bob was a former member of the Walpole Country Club in Walpole , the Wampatuck Country Club in Canton, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was the dear brother of M. Geraldine Mulcahy and her husband Michael of Mansfield and the late Richard Becker. He was the loving uncle of Timothy Mulcahy and his wife Sara of Franklin and Kevin Mulcahy and his wife Kimberly of Westborough. He was the cherished great uncle of Meghan, Brendan, Grace and Mia Mulcahy, and is also survived by several cousins. His funeral mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 21st at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield.
